Commonwealth Business Media
Appoints New President of BACK Aviation
East Windsor,
NJ—February 3, 2006 Commonwealth Business
Media, Inc. announced today the appointment of Steve Casley as President, BACK
Aviation Solutions, a recently acquired Commonwealth subsidiary that provides
Information Services, Asset Management, Analytical Services, and Customer
Relationship Management Services to the aviation and air transport sectors. In
this capacity, he will be responsible for BACK’s
overall strategic direction as well as the company’s day-to-day operations.
“I have tremendous respect for
Steve and the rest of the BACK management team and want to make sure that they
have the resources and encouragement to succeed,” said Alan Glass, Commonwealth
Business Media Chairman, President and CEO.
“BACK is a great business with
enormous growth potential that will be realized by new product development
activities, as well as increased marketing and promotion support for the sales
organization. Steve’s talents are well-suited to help BACK thrive in each of
these areas.”
Casley replaces Michael Allen,
Managing Director of BACK’s Information Services
Group, who will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities; although
he will continue to oversee special projects for the company.
Casley brings more than two
decades of airline management and consulting experience to his leadership role
at BACK.
Remarked Glass: “Steve’s
background in consulting, analysis and direct airline experience covers
virtually all aspects of contemporary aviation operations. He has led
or been personally involved in over 200 assignments for major airlines
and aviation companies in North America, Europe and Asia.”
During the recent merger,
Casley was Managing Director, with primary responsibility over
BACK’s Asset Management division. As BACK
co-founder and principal, Casley has ably served the company’s extensive
network of clients representing a cross-section of aviation, including
industry associations, government agencies, investment firms, airlines,
airport authorities, manufacturers, law firms and consultancies.
Prior to co-founding BACK,
Casley held numerous airline executive positions, including being part
of the start-up team at People Express Airlines, serving as the Managing
Director of Continental Airlines premier Newark hub, and as a senior
member of the Towers Perrin Transportation Practice.
Casley holds a BS degree
in business administration and political science from St. John's
University, with graduate studies at the Harvard Business School. He has
been a speaker at numerous international aviation industry conferences
and has published or contributed to a variety of articles in aviation
publications and the general press.
Steve Casley will report
directly to Alan Glass. Reporting to Casley will be Vice
President/Worldwide Sales & Service John Weber, Vice President/Asset
Management Scott Daniels and Managing Director/Aviation Consulting
Tulinda Larsen.
