Why Clients Prefer BACK’s SCHEDULES Products

Schedules straight from the source OAG©

BACK's Airline Schedules and Capacity database contains information on every scheduled passenger and cargo carrier in the world filing with OAG© - Official Airline Guides.  Our Airline Schedules database includes weekly updates on all schedule changes, additions and cancellations made by the carriers. BACK's powerful front-end software gives you the ability to customize schedules data content in a format that meets your specific needs exactly. Independent research indicates that the quality, accuracy, flexibility and ease of use of BACK's software products makes them preferred by airport and airline analysts around the world. Airline Schedules iNET & CD offer a multitude of display and constraint fields so you can download exactly the data you want.

WEEKLY data capture of all additions / changes / deletions filed by carriers in the past seven days

BACK's Airline Schedules and Capacity database is updated on a weekly basis.  BACK takes a data capture from OAG each week and refreshes the Schedules-iNET product 52 times per year. All schedule changes and updates are pushed out to subscribers automatically when the product is opened, with no tasks required on the subscriber’s part.

SEAMLESS HISTORY to 1979

BACK is the only source in the world that can automatically track trends and changes in commercial airline schedules, routes, frequency and capacity developments since 1979, the start of US Airline Deregulation.   Our products allow users to define exactly how they want to measure schedules activity (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, yearly), and the resulting output is displayed in a seamless time series in Excel spreadsheet format, or any other output format of choice (text, .TDF, Dbase, MapInfo).

Intense Analysis or Simple Reports

BACK products are designed for the serious analyst as well as the busy manager who just needs a quick report or data snap for the next meeting.

For the Analyst - Powerful, flexible and effective analytical tools for data research:

BACK’s research tools are recognized by industry analysts as being the best in class for digging into the data and delivering exact and accurate answers to tough specific research questions. BACK’s
Schedules i-NET and CD products provide the maximum flexibility in organizing and retrieving precisely the information you need in a ready-to-analyze format. This is an important enhancement over systems that only deliver data from pre-formatted report generators. The speed of the product means significant amounts of vital schedules information are delivered to your desktop lightning fast. The front-end is compatible with all versions of Windows since the ‘98 version. All data inquiries can be output to Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word), dBASE, or MapInfo file formats.

For the busy Manager - a complete selection of the most commonly used BACK-PAK Aviation Reports:

In addition to the ad hoc query capability, a full set of commonly requested reports is available covering areas such as:

  •  Airline/airport operational or capacity shares by day, month, quarter or year

  • Carrier market shares by day, month, quarter or year

  • Arrival/Destination reports by carriers, operations, seats, ASMs

  • Flight activity chronological reports

  • Most recent schedule changes introduced in the last week; organized by carrier or airport

  • And more...

BACK subscribers can also request and define additional reports to be included in the BACK-PAK Aviation Reports menu system.

Internet Access or CD Subscriptions

CD subscribers can choose less-than monthly updates for a reduced cost, with the option to have the data resident on their laptop or PC, allowing for analysis even when an Internet link may not be available.  Whether Internet or CD, BACK provides lightning-fast response to any database query.

Interface with Route Mapping Software (companion BACK software Solution):

Imbedded within the front-end is the option to retrieve schedule information in Aviation Mapping format. BACK’s Aviation Mapping™ is the natural companion to Airline Schedules on CD-ROM. With Aviation Mapping, you can create Boardroom-presentation quality route maps to help you bring your analysis or business plans to life.

Aviation Mapping allows you to:

  • Automatically draw color route maps in minutes using the 900+ airlines or 3,500+ airports found in BACK's Airline Schedules database

  • Optionally color/shade routes based on airline operation values (number of passenger seats, number of operations, type of equipment, length of haul, etc.)

  • Use complete freedom in adjusting map sizes, colors, labeling, and icons

  • Center maps automatically based on route network concentration

  • Build in routes to new cities/airports not contained in your original data file

  • Create customized Titles and Legends

  • Export route maps to presentation packages like Word or PowerPoint

  • Automatically build graphs from mapping data to illustrate operations, and include as an insert in your Route Map

CONNECTIONS BUILDER (companion BACK software Solution):

CONNECTIONS BUILDER takes the direct flight schedules of all or selected carriers and builds all possible connection flight-pairs, based on either default constraint settings or custom settings which you select. The resulting output displays the optimum connectivity and maximum connection seat capacity for the carriers selected. By leaving carrier selection unconstrained, you can observe and analyze the connections dynamics of any airport, any airline or any marketing alliance and see how passenger connection options at any one airport or Hub compare with those of any another.

Reliable Data Source and Value-Added Features

BACK’s Schedules database, sourced from OAG, is one of the world’s most respected and widely used sources of airline schedules information. BACK augments OAG schedules with our own aircraft seating capacity research. This ensures that analysts are using the most accurate tool in the world for calculating airline, airport, aircraft and route capacity. Additional value-added features include:

  • Number of Operations or ASMs/ASKs by airline or airport; summed across regions or world areas

  • Detailed breakouts of Marketing Alliance partnerships (Published Carrier vs. True Operator)

  • Ability to eliminate double counting of Code Share seats or operations

  • Wave analysis at HUB airports by the minute or hour... looking at maximum passenger volume or number of operations

  • Calculation of carrier's competitive market share at airports or over a series of individual routes in seconds

  • The ability to analyze Flight Operations by carrier, equipment type, distance, stage-length, or elapsed-time ranges

  • Historical tracking and identification of IATA carrier code use, including duplicates
